read the paragraph about the underground city of derinkuyu. select the sentence that should be removed to improve the focus of the paragraph. the worlds largest excavated underground city is called derinkuyu. located in cappadocia, turkey, derinkuyu features multiple levels of tunnels, the lowest of which is almost 300 feet below the surface. though derinkuyu is currently uninhabited, this underground world was used for thousands of years as a space to store goods and hide from enemies. at its peak, an estimated twenty thousand residents took shelter in derinkuyu. the space included many of the same amenities as an above - ground city, including schools, living quarters, areas for cattle, and an extensive water storage system. while visiting derinkuyu would be fascinating, i dont think i would enjoy living there. it is unclear who built derinkuyu and exactly when it was constructed, but the earliest known reference to the city dates to the fourth century bce.
