working so much to get through school certainly set her apart on campus where it seemed that many of her peers worked only a few hours a week or not at all. most of her classmates were also straight out of high school, whereas kemp decided to go back to school later in her life.
being a non - traditional student had its pluses: kemp knew exactly what she wanted and was determined to go after it.
